Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has issued a cautionary notice to policyholders regarding fraudulent mobile applications misusing its name. The state-run insurer has urged customers to remain vigilant and conduct transactions only through its official platforms.
LIC has identified instances of unauthorized mobile applications falsely claiming to be associated with the corporation. In response, it has advised customers to verify sources before making transactions and to rely only on its official website, LIC Digital App, and other authorized channels listed on the corporation’s website.
"We have noticed the circulation of fake mobile applications in the name of LIC India. Customers are advised to remain alert and avoid using unauthorized applications for financial transactions," LIC stated. It further clarified that the corporation will not be liable for any payments made through unofficial platforms.
For customers unsure about the authenticity of the LIC mobile application, the corporation recommended visiting its official website to download the legitimate Android or iOS app. The advisory aims to prevent financial fraud and protect policyholders from potential cyber threats.
